Thompsons Point Seating Chart

Strictly speaking, you don’t have to opt for physical seating at Thompson’s Point. Another option is to stand during the gig. So, which would you prefer? You don’t have to decide in advance. You can do so later, after buying a ticket.
Here is a breakdown of various sections of the seating plan, even if ‘seating plan’ is a bit of a misnomer. Not all of these sections even permit literal seating…
Standing room only
This is a pretty big section running right up to the stage. Not that the ‘standing room only’ description should be taken too literally. You’re more than welcome to dance there, too! It’d surely be a waste if you didn’t, considering that you’d be so close to where the action happens. So, you’ll be able to hear the music blaring with particular clarity here.
Mezzanine seating
While the standing-room-only section is on the main ground level, there are elevated sections on either side. Along these sides, you’ll find mezzanine seating. When sitting on any of these seats, you’ll get a more panoramic view of the performance space.
VIP seating
By paying extra for a VIP seat, you can give yourself a better view of the stage. Holders of VIP tickets also get their own food and beverage service. Despite these benefits, you might actually be put off booking VIP seating if you are eager to mix and mingle with the crowd. If you especially enjoy the social aspect of going to concerts, you might not like how VIP seating is segregated from the main seating areas.
Open lawn area
Like the idea of watching the show while sitting on your own chair or lying on your own blanket? Thompson’s Point has a lawn where you can do either. This lawn is behind the standing-room-only area and enables you to enjoy listening to the live music in an especially casual, relaxed fashion. You don’t even have to reserve a specific spot on the lawn beforehand. Instead, you can just buy your ticket before picking a spot later, once you’ve actually arrived at the lawn.
ADA seating
Do you need ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) seating? If so, just request it when you arrive. Security staff at the front gate will be happy to assist you.
Which is the best type of seating to choose?
This depends on various factors. If you like to experience live music the in-your-face way, the standing-room-only area would be the obvious place to go.
However, watching a concert from this vantage point can feel a little too in-your-face. To continue seeing the stage clearly, you might need to keep your head tilted up so much you risk getting a crick in your neck.
If this is a common problem for you at gigs, consider opting for mezzanine seating. That way, you will likely feel more like you’re on the same level as the stage rather than constantly looking up at it.
On the other hand, if you crave a more premium, ‘exclusive’ feel, VIP seating could be just right for you. At the opposite end of that scale is the lawn area, which is more open and, as a result, good for fostering a more sociable atmosphere.
