Frequently asked questions
What is the address of Thompson’s Point?
The address to input into your car’s GPS is 207 Thompson’s Point, Portland, ME 04102.
When should I arrive at the venue?
It would be wise for you to do so about an hour before the event is scheduled to begin. That way, you give yourself some leeway in case you encounter issues that slow you down more than expected.
For example, it could take longer than expected for you to find a parking space. Alternatively, you might want to buy food, drink, or merchandise before the show gets underway.
What does the venue class as a ‘beach style’ chair?
The most important thing is that the chair’s seat is not more than nine inches off the ground when you’re sitting on it. So, check that the chair ticks this box and looks like the kind of chair someone would typically take with them to the beach.
A beach chair tends to be physically light, not to mention easy to fold up. Also, make sure the chair is relatively low when unfolded. That way, you are unlikely to obstruct the view of other guests behind you at the show.
How long does it usually take for the chair section to fill up?
In the case of a sold-out show, about 30 minutes after the doors open.
What food and alcoholic beverages can I buy at Thompson’s Point?
This depends on the lineup of food trucks and vendors available for the event – and this lineup is going to depend on the event itself. The good news is that Thompson’s Point will post the lineup on social media come the day of the show. So, you can easily get an idea of what kind of food you will be able to buy.
Thompson’s Point also offers various beer selections from both local and national brands – at its main concessions area under the Depot Pavilion. There’s even a gluten-free alcohol option!
Is there a free water station onsite where I can refill my reusable bottle?
Yes! The climate charity REVERB, which aims to make concerts more eco-friendly, has provided Thompson’s Point with a free water station. If you’ve got a reusable bottle you often like to refill with drinking water, you can do that at REVERB’s water station.
The station itself is free of charge to use. However, you can donate to REVERB to obtain a custom Thompson’s Point REVERB Nalgene bottle.
This could obviously be an attractive prospect if you don’t currently have a reusable water bottle but would like one. Also, your donation will support the nonprofit’s mission to make live music more sustainable!
